Doubts and queries - GNOME Shell extension for OpenAFS (GSoC Project Idea)

I am Mayank Singh, a first-year B.Tech student and new to this mailing
list. I am interested in contributing to OpenAFS under Google Summer
of Code (GSoC) and am currently exploring the GNOME Shell extension
for OpenAFS project idea.

I have a few questions regarding its implementation:
1. Is there an existing DBus interface that the extension can
leverage, or would it need to interact directly with CLI commands?
2. How will the client cli and extension relate ? should it wrap or
cover the use cases of the cli ?

I would appreciate any guidance or direction to ensure the extension
stays aligned with the project’s goals. Looking forward to making
meaningful contributions to the project !
