capabilities changes in 9.0?

Hi all,

rwatson just pushed a big capabilities patch to HEAD, which touches a 
bunch of filesystems with API changes.  I'm heading out of town this 
afternoon, so I may not be able to test that we still build in a timely 
fashion -- can anyone else do so?
