Home directories with Maildir on sfs

Hello all

I've been trying for awhile now to have my home directory mounted on sfs.  It works fine, except for one thing:  When my mail server tries to write into the users ~/Maildir to deliver mail, it fails (obviously because the mail daemon isn't logged into sfs, and so has no visibilty to this space).  Is there any workaround for this?
