That doesn't do the same thing.  The old Unconfirmed button causes the
register window to display unconfirmed txns only.   It's clean, simple 
and very effective.

The new weird icon in the upper righthand corner has a number disadvantages
relative to the old Unconfirmed view:

 - it causes the current register to go split screen--the register
   is still mostly cluttered with confirmed transactions at the top.

 - the size (number of register lines) in the resulting "N Unconfirmed
   Transactions" register is not remembered.  it defaults to a measly
   three txns (assuming two line entries.)

 - if you download the txns before going to the "new weird icon in the
   upper righthand corner" split view, then only one txns is shown and
   it's the newest (whereas it's desirable to view/handle the oldest first.)
