Yeah, I seem to recall there's another forum, but I didn't remember how to
get to it. It'd be nice if they added a link at the bottom of all list
messages, but now I see that it can be reached by clicking the Help link on
the moneydance.com page. I may re-post an edited version of my message
there.

OK, that makes sense. I only have one investment account in each of my MD
files, so never had the need to "Add" a security that was already present.

My bad. I meant "top right". On my Mac, pressing ESC after I've typed some
text in that search box has no effect. I know there are other places in MD
where ESC has the CANCEL effect (e.g., while entering a transaction in a
register).

Thanks for your help. Guess I'll head over to the support forum and check
out what's there.
