I was actually looking for an earlier posting about the same thing, 
which I remembered reading because I also have been noticing this old 
problem recurring. Can't find that one.

I can usually get it to fix itself by switching windows and/or 
applications, but it's confusing.

You'll also notice that the column totals don't budge from zero.
