Cross-posting is the act of sending the same message to several mailing 
lists or newsgroups. In your case, because you apparently chose to reply 
to a spam message, your message went to the following recipients and lists:

[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]

Now, to start a new thread (topic) on this list via email, simply send 
an email to [email protected] with a descriptive subject. 
The [moneydance] prefix will be added by the server.

To start a new thread using the Yahoo Groups interface (i.e., in a web 
browser), log into Yahoo, and then access the group from your list of 
groups. On the left, there is a link, indented under Messages, which 
says, "Post." Click that, enter your subject, and then type in your text 
in the body.

If you happen to stray off-topic in a reply (such as this), it is good 
form to change the subject, thereby "forking" a new thread. To do this 
effectively (i.e., provide an audit trail, so that everyone knows that 
the new subject was forked), simply enter your new subject in front of 
the existing "Re: " followed by a space, then "(was: [original subject, 
including the Re:])" as I have done, above. The next reply to this 
should remove the "(was: " portioin of the subject, and there we have a 
new thread.

If you have something for the list which is considered truly off-topic, 
you should prefix that with "[OT]" to warn others ahead of time that the 
subject matter is not really related to the list at hand. For subjects 
which are slightly off-topic, use" [SOT]" and for totally off-topic, 
"[TOT]".

Indeed, there really is some logic to all of this, and it makes 
searching lists much more effective.
