Indeed, OpenJDK for OS/2 works well with Moneydance. I am using the 
latest release version under OpenJDK 1.60 b24. :-)

I'd have to load up the 2008 MD build to give this a whirl, so I won't 
speculate as to how I might get that report under that version, though 
Kevin's directions for 2011 sound right to me.

Again, I'm not clear on 2008, at this point, but if you are stuck on the 
JVM issue, I'll see what I can do this week to load up MD 2008 under 
Innotek Java 1.4.2 and see how I might go about getting this report out 
for you.
