I am running OS X 10.9, Xcode 5.0.1, XQuartz 2.7.4 and Homebrew.

Homebrew prefix is freshly installed.

The following command was used to build with Homebrew:

    brew -v install fontforge --with-cairo --with-czmq --with-gif --with-x --with-libspiro --with-pango

When I build fontforge with Pango support, fontforgs crashes at start, as follows:

    ~> fontforge
Copyright (c) 2000-2012 by George Williams.
Executable based on sources from 14:57 GMT 31-Jul-2012-D.
Library based on sources from 14:57 GMT 31-Jul-2012.
fontforge(13571,0x7fff7afa1310) malloc: *** error for object 0x7fa068e025b0: pointer being freed was not allocated
*** set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug
fish: Job 1, 'fontforge ' terminated by signal SIGABRT (Abort)

Everything works fine if I build without Pango

    brew -v install fontforge --with-cairo --with-czmq --with-gif --with-x --with-libspiro
