segfault on xubuntu-12.04

My first time reporting a bug here.

I've installed fontforge from the git repository onto xubuntu-12.04
32-bit intel and am getting segfaults on a regular basis. No problem on
a win7-64 machine nor on a mac OSX-10.8.5
This is the gdb output when running fontforge and opening the freehand
window, drawing a curve then clicking 'OK' to close the freedraw window:
