Re: what has happened with `fontforge.org'?

Yes, the old Fontforge.org and fontforge.sf.net are unavailable and the
documentation at fontforge.github.com is woefully incomplete.

http://designwithfontforge.com/ is up, which is sufficient documentation to
make fonts but light on some technical details.
