Hi,

There are several ways to reach your goal (apart from implementing the  
choice in UI):
1. Remove fontforge.mo from /usr/share/locale/de/LC_MESSAGES (Linux) or  
appropriate folder in your OS.
2. Switch system language to English.
3. Start application with "C" locale from command line or tweak its  
starting script and menu item as appropriate.
