I have some ideas for a talk.  My program, a Metafont implementation that
generates splines isn't quite ready yet, but I can make a workable demo
for showing some features of parametric font design:

- Professor Knuth's way of generating bezier curves by using a global 
optimization algorithm
- Benefits of parametric font design:
   * more consistency in a font
   * prototyping and making global changes quickly
   * creating multiple optical font sizes from one source
- How parametric design can be implemented in an interactive program
