Good question that needs pondering.

One reason I left it like this is - Bandwidth costs money:
head.tar.gz == 80K in size

with ./configure and other files.
branch.tar.gz == 360K in size

Distros need to pay for bandwidth used. Head uses much fewer bytes.

Seeing that Debian, Fedora, ArchLinux, FreeBSD seem okay to build their
latest and greatest spinoffs using the reduced file set, and they haven't
converted it themselves either, it may be best to ask them preference vs
bouncing back-n-forth.

Second reason, at the moment, I'm leaning towards the smaller file set for
clarity of what really needs changes, and create a new branch for each
version.

The edits that went into Jon's fixes for the older machines makes this a
really tempting point to create a version 0.4 (barely a week after 0.3) so
that it's usable by a larger audience of machines/users.
