Not really. To be honest, I don't have any problems. I just quit
bothering with this low-quality crap quite some time ago.

There is no changelog. Well, there sort of is, if you hunt
recursively through all the garbage html and the adorable Terry
Pratchett quotes. He's so cool, man ! But it hasn't actually *told*
you anything since 2012.

So is there a reason for perl 5.5+ ? Who knows. Is there a *reason*
fontforge abandoned a working ./configure, make, make install system
? Who knows ? Any clues that might exist are an easter egg hunt.
Whoopee ! Just what I want to waste my time on !

"libtoolize" ? Yeah, right. Go jump.

Here's a clue, kids ; I'm not going to a bunch of trouble to build
and install forty pounds of worthless junk if you can't even bother
to document WHY those changes were made.

It's just crap.

For a lesson in how to create software, look at Graphics Magick.

Has full *accurate* documentation in plain text right in the root of
the source directory. You can actually read what changes were made,
and why, version by version ! Whoa, what a concept !

./configure works out of the box. It finds everything CORRECTLY.

If you don't like what configure finds, there are options to
customize the code to your own situation. And they work.

It builds straight through with a *non-gcc* compiler (I've tested
three). Very few warnings and no errors. It's been a while since I
bothered but as I remember, fontforge newer than 2012 is a hassle.
GCC-isms everywhere. Code that is wrong. Big troubles no bubbles.

When finished, Graphics Magick actually works.

This is professional-quality software. You should try it some time.
