You make some valid points. It behooves software developers to test their software on wider variety of systems, which may lead to the discovery of problems that affect all systems. There is value in maintaining compatibility with old systems and old compilers. There are many good open source projects to look to as role models. Developers would be wise to accept patches that fix problems, even if they fix problems on systems they're not themselves using.

However, you need to stop using the offensive language and tone of voice you're using. When you write to someone else's mailing list, you are a guest in their space and should act accordingly. It is not appropriate to insult the developers or users of a software project on their mailing list and it makes other members of the list such as myself uncomfortable. Constructive discussion about problems in the software or its development process is appreciated; what you are doing is not. If you do not stop using such language, I would ask the admins of this list to ban you from this mailing list, to avoid alienating other list members who may actually make constructive contributions. I am a manager of another open source project, and if you were using such language on one of our lists, I would h
 ave banned you already.
