Gdraw - setting popup message?

(I apologize if you are seeing this twice, I sent it to the wrong list. Hoping for your patience and understanding, I don't often use mailing lists.) Greetings, I'm trying to set the popup message of a GTextField after it's been created, but I can't seem to do so... The function that is supposed to do this, GGadgetSetPopupMsg, just gives me a long list of U+FFFD glyphs no matter what message I attempt to set to. The same unsurprisingly happens if I include gdraw/ggadgetsP.h and try to set `popup_msg`. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I notice GGadgetSetPopupMsg isn't used by anything, so why is it even there?
