I can only suggest using our ftgamma and ftstring from FreeType-demos to tes=
t if subpixel rendering adds anything. The former provides wonderful pattern=
s by pressing [Tab] repeatedly but only tests most common RGB stripes. The l=
etter shows flowers in the bottom corners that are supper sensitive to color=
 fringing.=
