fontconfig for macOS-like rendering?

Hi guys,  I was hoping somebody here might have an example fontconfig
that more closely
resembles MacOS antialising/rendering.   Apple isn't using
sub-pixel/RGB, strictly greyscale
and they do gama/aliasing in a more ideal order.  I was using ftview
quite a bit and found
some combos that are incredibly close (v40/auto/greyscale), but I can't
get them to render in applications
like, for example, thunderbird which should be using freetype unscathed.

This is a Thunderbird Inbox snapshot as an example

<-- MacOS (ideal) on the left.  Linux/freetype/ubuntu24.04/KDE-Neon on
the Right. -->

MacOS   <---->   Linux/freetype

any hints (pun in tended) or fontconfig/environment-variables examples
welcome, thank you!
