it's been a while since the last missive about this.  here's some misguided=

nonsense I said last time around, and possibly equally misguided current=20
opinion:

fontconfig and pkgconfig still sound like good ideas.  dbus and gstreamer, =

interest level to be included some day.

hal i'm less certain about, since to my knowledge no one is using it in any=

real sense outside of linux.  and cairo isn't being used in KDE, so it's=20
right out of any list of de-facto adopted code.

are there other packages we should be considering here?

revision bumps since april; should we do a specs 1.1 to reflect that?  have=

any other specs reached a high enough adoption level to warrant a specs 2?

i don't expect any sort of decision on this before DDC/OLS, and possibly no=

until after Xorg 7.0.  just trying to get an idea of where people are at.
