The Mesa developers are currently stabilizing their tree for a new
release, which all of us would like to include in 6.9/7.0.  When they
have a stable version ready, we will import it into the monolithic tree
for 6.9 and we will use the tarball for the 7.0 release.

That would be fine.  Make it block 1690 (the 6.9/7.0 release bug) so
that we can track it.
