DAMAGE-XFIXES status

a short note:

After several attempts to use various cvs -j functions and patch, I 
settled on creating a large diff file and(mostly)
making all my changes by hand. I have my stuff in the trunk compiling 
and linking, and am making commits
with the intent of minimizing the window in which the build MAY be 
broken by my work.

Please keep in mind that the build may (probably) be broken or the code 
may not run for some amount of time today
due to my work.

I also have to do XEVIE, and work with Deron Johnson to get COMPOSITE 
in, so things will be busy these next 2 days.
