Does this look good to people?  With this I can build and install from a
"make dist," though it doesn't distcheck yet.  Includes disting of
missing files, installing of a header that XFree86 installs
(StringDefs.h), ignoring of errors that happen on srcdir == builddir,
and using X_CFLAGS to build makestrs, which uses an X11 header.
