Screen pamameter

Hi,

I testing Xserver on older computer with bit stange monitor. Normaly it 
run in resolution 800x600x32. When I add a special ModeLine to my XFree86
configuration file, I can use the the 1024x768x32 resolution... can
anybody help me how to use this parameters in Xserver? I guess its the 
-screen parameter, but I really dont understand the parameter syntax
