It's not just Linux though, it's the BSDs as well, and to some extent 
Mac OS X, although Apple are no doubt probably capable of implementing 
this kind of thing on top of Quartz Extreme once the protocol's sorted 
out. Any other operating systems use a free X server as their major 
graphical system?
