I did some more work by adding modelines to the Monitor section:


         Modeline "2048x1536"  340.48  2048 2216 2440 2832  1536 1537 1540 
1603 -hsync +vsync
         Modeline "1920x1440"  341.35  1920 2072 2288 2656  1440 1441 1444 
1512 -hsync +vsync

And adding a CRT2 section to the Video card section:

         Option      "CRT2HSync" "30.0 - 130.0"
         Option      "CRT2VRefresh" "50.0 - 160.0"


No joy.  The log still says:

RADEON(0): CRT2 Monitor: Using vrefresh value of 160.00 Hz
(II) RADEON(0): Clock range:  20.00 to 350.00 MHz
(II) RADEON(0): Not using mode "2048x1536" (hsync out of range)
(II) RADEON(0): Not using mode "1920x1440" (hsync out of range)


Why does it think the two Modes are "hsync out of range?"  I'm using the 
exact Modelines I get from running X on that monitor (using a different box.)
