Right. I don't care so much if things like full-screen games use
OpenGL and only run well on the machine's console, but if random
ordinary desktop applications would be using OpenGL "just because" and
as a side-effect couldn't be remote-displayed, then no thanks.
I use remote-display on pretty much a daily basis, and there are some
tasks (e.g. GUI administration tool running on a system in another
building) that nearly require it. Consider that I've had at times to
maintain desk space for a big old Indigo2 system because of a single,
expensive, node-locked 3D application that wouldn't remote-display
even to another SGI. Been there, done that, not fun.
