Thanks, the card is recognized now, but Xati won't display anything
useable.

just a small status report:
I've got a wxga+ display, both wxga+ and xga failed the same way, some
clutter is displayed on the window, i can move my mouse cursor (once),
and something gets redrawn. It won't shutdown nicely (with a working
userspace afterwards), console switching is also broken.

Xati -listmodes also won't display any 16:10 modes like 1280x960 or
1680x1050, if started without any parameter it complains "depth 4
unsupported" and if use "1680x1050" or -mode <xga-mode> it only
displays.. something.

OTOH Xfbdev works really nice.
