You're flattering me ;), unfortunately I likely won't have time to do
any significant work until the end of the year at least.

This is basically texmem-2 territory, right Ian? What's the status on
that?

I'm pondering whether the DRM is really the right place for this; maybe
it would rather be a low-level mini-driver as suggested by Linus?
