Fonts

Hi - How do I go about setting up font directories for the
freedesktop.org xserver? I've been using it as my main server for about
a month, yet i need to run mathematica (which requires some separate
font dirs: (prefix)/SystemFiles/Fonts/Type1/ &
(prefix)/SystemFiles/Fonts/BDF:unscaled). How do I go about configuring
the server to load these directories.

Also - xemacs uses much larger fonts under the fd.o server. Is there any
way to change this?
