Xati maturity

Hi there,
I am considering new graphics cards, and I was wondering: How mature is the 
Xati driver? My current NVIDIA card only runs only Xvesa and Xfbdev, neither 
of which support [email protected] (I have a 21" CRT display) - will this be 
possible with Radeon cards?

And another thing, is progress being made in Xnvidia?
