Starting the xserver

Ive been trying to work with the fdo xserver and acctually got it to compile and start. The problem is that now I cant get any clients to connect to it. All of them say that the connection was rejected or some such. No one can connect and I even use the method specified on the site. Im using Xati and trying to start an xterm. The xserver starts up and I get the screen with the hatch background and the x as the cursor. But then the xterm says connection refused. I was wondering how people on here start the xserver and get clients to connect. Any scripts would be nice and even better would be a way to get gdm to run it on side(with xfree86 on vt7 and fdo on vt8). Thanks Scott Henson [email protected] MAE student at WVU
