The FAQ has nothing on this problem  And if your referring to the end 
of the install guide.  I use that, and the xserver starts fine, but 
nothing can connect to it.  I use this line to start the xserver.
sudo /opt/fdo/bin/Xati  -screen 1024x768x16x60 :1 & xterm -display :1

With this line the xserver starts and displays a nice hatched 
background and an X as a cursor but nothing else starts.  I get this 
error:
xterm -display :1
AUDIT: Thu Jan 29 21:12:18 2004: 2737 Xati: client 1 rejected from local
host
Xlib: connection to ":1.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

xterm Xt error: Can't open display: :1

Everything else sees the same error about not being able to connect to 
the xserver.  That is what Im asking for help with.  Thank you.
