And here :) What I don't understand is how people actually debug this;
for me I get the standard grey pattern, a mouse cursor, then the machine
hangs a bit later. Actually debugging that seems ... tricky.

I'd love to do something constructive to make things work, but it's not
like you can just attach gdb!
