libXcomposite.so.1 - not found

Hello there,
I grabbed the xserver cvs today and it installed just fine. I'm not 
exactly sure how i am supposed to start xcompmgr. I usually just do an 
"./Xvesa -screen 1024x768x24 -nolisten tcp -ac :1 & fluxbox -display :1" 
and then when i'm in fluxbox i go ahead and try to start xcompmgr from 
an xterm window. It fails with the following message:

"error while loading shared libraries: libXcomposite.so.1: cannot open 
shared object file: no such file or directory"
now, libXcomposite.so.1 is obviously there in /opt/fdo/lib so I'm rather 
confused as to why it's not working. I also tried to start xcompmgr like so:

"./Xvesa -screen 1024x768x24 -nolisten tcp -ac :1 & ./xcompmgr -display :1"

but it fails with the same message. Please help me out here, i want my 
eye candy :)
