What we plan on doing is a series of small "how to" documents for basic functionality. The difficulty is that after basic functionality, it gets very complicated, very quickly. Almost everyone has unique needs, and it's not just possible to write a document for each combination of functionality. The most important thing for designing and building any system is a methodical approach. Break the functionality into pieces. Build each piece separately. Test each piece. Then, put the pieces together. That approach also ensures the you have tests for each piece.
