Pclock:  You are right on.  I have not been able to figure out what the 
limits are for a particular video chipset.  I have tried to read the 
technical spec's of the chips and looked at the kernel source code. 
Sometimes there are hard-coded limits in the kernel, you can make the 
minimums 0...and recompile your kernel...in many cases I have been able to 
get the PClock lower than the spec and the kernel limit...and in many cases 
they pclock wouldn't even go down to the published and kernel limits?!?!!?

bottom line:  Use adveMame, run your refresh rate at 60hz and use the (er 
forget the right name here) double clock features on an arcade monitor...not 
perfect, but runs great.  (did I mention you should buy an I-Pac?...saves 
you from running improper sync rates to your fragile arcade monitor)

To gloat:  I am running a 20" Sun (sony tube) monitor and love it with the 
triad or smoothing effects.  I think I like the "not true to the era" 
smoothing effects the best.  So, I gave up on the arcade monitor a long time 
ago....and am glad I did.  Although I can see the benefit if using a real 
arcade monitor...just not worth it to me to fight with it...plus a cocktail 
table with ALL SCREEN on top is nice.
