I'm trying to get AdvanceMame up and running on an epia MII 12000 (VT8623 / CLE266 chipset), but I'm unable to configure the video modes. I've set up the device_video_p/h/vclock settings for a PAL TV in advmame.rc, but when I run advcfg (or advv) to configure the video modes, I get the following:

check x:640 y:480 bpp:8
selmode :37
check x:640 y:480 bpp:16
selmode :38
check x:640 y:480 bpp:16
selmode :38
check x:640 y:480 bpp:24
selmode :39
check x:640 y:480 bpp:32
selmode :39
check x:1024 y:768 bpp:16
selmode :46
check x:320 y:240 bpp:16
selmode :86

Is this just a matter of more configuration somehwere (where?), or is the viafb framebuffer just not up to this?

VIA EPIA MII-12000 - VT8623 / CLE266 graphics.
Kernel 2.6.9
viafb framebuffer from epia patch at http://www.epiawiki.org
AdvanceMAME 0.88.0

Thanks,

Barney
