speed of advmame is slower than official mame?

Hi,
I run advmame 0.83 in DOS with default setting, I
found advmame runs slower than official mame (dmame).

For some games (MK and etc.),advmame has a long
loading time, and its FPS is low, but official mame
show a better peformance, shorter loading time and
faster FPS.

Is there some settings in advmame.rc to make advmame
run faster? Or advmame is always slow?

My computer is: celeron 1.2G ,TNT2, 256M ram
