adding SDL to advanceCD

Hello,
It seems i will have to add SDL to advanceCD linux image (you can read my first post). But I want to know; is just editing initrd.img and install SDL library files in this image, and do "makecd" and burn this image is enough to get SDL support? Will advanceMENU/MAME/MESS be able to use it?
