Getting Composite Sync

Hello all, I wonder; without messing with electronic circuits; it is possible to get composite sync simply by wiring together pins 13 and 14 of VGA to pin 20 of SCART? Another question; it is possible to force the video card to give composite sync under linux; using modelines for example? For instanca; my G550 gives sync at a certain pin of the VGA when in TV mode. But no TV drivers for linux :(. I am trying advanceCD. You can just ignore the second question; since it is a bit specific.
