AdvanceMENU - Start game directly from screensaver

Hello everyone, a couple of years ago, I had a MAME cabinet set up so that I could start a game directly from the screensaver. The idea was that the cabinet cycled through about 10 screenshots, and you could hit player1 start to load the pictured game. I'm working on another cabinet, and would like to use this feature again. Unfortunately, I can't remember how I did it. I've checked the documentation, archives, IRC, and usenet postings and cant dig anything up. Can anyone here help me out?
