AdvanceMenu/MAME Install

Hi everyone,

I rebuilt my arcade cabinet configuration this past weekend (replaced 
Mandrake 10.0 w/ Mandriva 2005LE) and ran into some "gotcha's"  That I 
thought I would share:

SVGALIB:

    This is the one that I spent the most time on.  I kept receiving
    "Unknown Symbol in Module" when I was loading, even though I had
    just completely recompiled the kernel and SVGALIB with the same
    version of gcc.

    It turns out that there is a 2.6.10+ kernel issue - devfs_mk_symlink
    is no longer exported.  You absolutely positively cannot get the
    driver to load unless you go in and comment
    'devfs_mk_symlink("svga", "svga_helper/0");' out of
    /root/svgalib/kernel/svgalib_helper/main.c.  It's on line 580 of the
    1.9.19 source.

    This should probably be added svgalib-1.9.19-kernel26.diff patch.

UDEV:

    Related to the SVGALIB issue above:  I found I had to manually add a
    call to svgalib-defs.sh at startup (not just put it in the scripts
    directory, as the readme said).  I'm thinking I could maybe add a
    .rule file instead to make things 'prettier', but I don't really
    know much about udev and haven't had time to experiment.

    Any udev guru out there care to enlighten us?

Other than those two issues, everything went pretty smoothly... probably 
mostly because I kept my old libvga.config and advance*.rc files.  :)
