Keyboard LED control in Linux broken?

  Hello!

   I'm at my wits end trying to get LED control to work with 0.101
under Linux. I'm using an iPAC connected to an LED interface board
(http://www.gamecab.com/LED%20Wiring.htm) and everything at the
hardware level is fine. Toggling numlock (either on the pass-through
keyboard or using setleds +num) lights the numlock associated LED
perfectly.

   Nothing, however, works from within advancemame. I know the
scripts are working because I can add a msg("LED1") action to the
script_led1 entry in advmame.rc and I see the message on the
appropriate event within a given game... but no numlock light toggle
happens.

   I've tried:

script_led1 on(kdb, 0b1); wait(!event()); off(kdb, 0b1);

   and:

script_led1 on(0, 0b1); wait(!event()); off(0, 0b1);

   Also - I've used both svgalib and raw for device_keyboard (not
sure that this even matters). I've tried the system with the keyboard
running on the PS/2 port and on USB (USB is my preferred config for
this box).

   No permutation seems to work no matter what I try.

   I'm either missing something, the documentation is no longer
accurate, or Linux control of the keyboard LEDs is non-functional.

   Has anyone else gotten it to work?

Thanks for any input!
  - Aaron
