ADVMAME can compile with AMD 64-bit?

I installed the Mandriva 2006 x86-64, and the configure program cannot find 
the correct architecture.
Advmame can be compiled for amd 64 bits? Or I need to use only the mandriva 
2006 x86-32 bit distro?
