I am looking for an analog solution for advmame 102.0 compiled under a fresh gentoo linux system. I have an Ultimarc A-PAC and I'm using the USB mode. Under Windows it works great. It is recognized under linux - I can use: advj -device_joystick raw advj -device_joystick event advj -device_joystick sdl they all show my joystick(s) and the buttons work just as expected. However, the numbers don't seem right. When the control is in the center, the value is 65536 and when a game is played this translates to moving right. calibrating via the TAB menu does nothing - but I saw a message from Andrea (albeit a while ago) saying this was only for DOS... so how are you supposed to calibrate under Linux? Related, I'm also using GroovyGameGear's gpwiz49 with 49 way joysticks, which are supposed to show up as analog controls as well. They also work fine under windows, but in linux, it's pull-to-the-right-all-the-time, even though buttons work. If anyone has this working, it would be great to hear details, including revision # of advmame you're using. Thanks for any bones you can throw my way!
