I am trying to install Advancemame on my newly built cocktail cab so that I
can get games with different resolutions to work correctly.

I installed FC5, updated it, installed SDL (via yum), installed SVGAlib
(from RPM via yum svgalib.i386 0:1.9.24-2.fc5), and installed advancemame
(from source). Everything works, but I am pretty sure Advancemame is using
the SDL drivers.

I tried putting the following in my advmame.rc file:
device_video svgalib

and I get this:

Invalid argument 'svgalib' for option 'device_video'
Valid values are:
auto Automatic detection
fb Frame Buffer video
sdl SDL video
none No video
Error loading the video configuration.

I recompiled and re-installed advancemame and still get the same thing.

I have also tried adding:
alias char-major-209 svgalib_helper

to my /etc/modprobe.conf
and still doesn't work

Any ideas what's going on? I think I would probably have problems
installing svgalib from source on Redhat, but that may be what I need to
do...

Anybody else have any ideas that may help me!!

Thanks!!
