guncon2 under linux/unix?

I just came across this post while looking for a good gun solution for 
my cab:

Says that he handed the code over to Andrea back in June of 2005.  Did 
any of that ever find it's way into AdvanceMAME?  I'm actually using 
FreeBSD and not Linux here, but I could always try using compat-linux.
