Calibration mode unsupported [Was: "AdvMAME Opens in Tiny Window"]

I no longer think this problem has anything to do with my TV, computer,
or video card. I think the problem is in advcfg itself. Here's why:

1. From the initial advconfig menu ("Select Video Format"), I choose the
last option:

	TV NTSC (60Hz)

This selects a default device_video_format string of:

	format = 0.828 0.024 0.074 0.074 0.924 0.011 0.011 0.053


2.  On the next menu ("Select the model of your monitor") I choose:

	Generic - NTSC TV (USA)

This sets the clock string to the default:

	clock = 5-100 / 15.73 / 60

3. At the next menu ("Select the configuration method") I choose:

	Manual Low centering - SUGGESTED - (low frequency settings)

At this point, advcfg aborts with the error:

	Calibration mode unsupported.
	The video mode is incompatible with the monitor limitations.


PLEASE NOTE THAT I SELECTED ONLY THE DEFAULT BUILT-IN VIDEO MODE FOR AN
NTSC TV.

If you choose the default video mode for a TV, and then select TV as
your monitor type, why would it say the video mode is incompatible with
the monitor selection?

To me, this says the defaults within advcfg are incorrect. Does anybody
know what the actual device_video_format string should be for an NTSC
TV?
