My favourite text editor, JDK 1.3, a Nokia J2ME SDK, Jax (sometimes 
JODE), Ant, a web browser and a couple of batch files.

I haven't found an IDE yet that was any better for J2ME development.  
They are all too slow, overly complex (containing far more than just 
J2ME) and have text editors from hell.

Since the programming environment for J2ME is currently small and 
manageable, the unix philosophy of a tool for each job works well, 
IMHO.
